Veterinary Medicine

Objective

The aim of the educational programme is to prepare competitive and qualified veterinary technicians who meet the needs of the labour market. Within the scope of their professional competence, graduates will be able to provide animal care and treatment, respond to animal diseases and injuries, offer professional guidance, monitor animals during post-operative recovery, provide outpatient care, and perform technical procedures related to artificial insemination.

Graduates will also be able to assist veterinarians in diagnosing animal health conditions by collecting radiographs, biological samples, and other laboratory specimens, assist during veterinary surgical procedures, participate in ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections, and perform other duties within the scope of the profession.

 

Admission Requirement

  • Completion of full general education.

 

Employment Opportunities

Graduates holding a qualification in Veterinary Medicine may find employment in veterinary clinics, livestock farms, veterinary pharmacies, zoos, pet shops, animal shelters, veterinary laboratories, advisory and consultancy centres, vivariums, slaughterhouses, meat processing enterprises, companies producing veterinary pharmaceuticals and artificial insemination products, and animal by-product processing facilities. Graduates may also choose to become self-employed.
