Objective

The aim of the vocational training programme Timber Harvesting is to prepare qualified specialists with the knowledge and practical skills required to carry out timber harvesting operations safely and efficiently. The programme equips learners to use machinery, tools, and specialised equipment in compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, prepare logging operations, fell trees safely, process felled trees, sort harvested timber, manage logging residues, and extract and load timber for transportation.

• Completion of full general education.

Graduate Competencies

Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will be able to:

• Operate machinery, tools, and specialised equipment in compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
• Organise timber harvesting operations.
• Prepare logging operations prior to tree felling.
• Safely fell trees and process felled timber.
• Sort harvested timber and manage logging residues.
• Extract harvested timber and load it onto transport vehicles.
