Artistic Woodworking
Objective
The aim of the vocational education programme is to prepare qualified specialists in Artistic Woodworking who possess the knowledge and practical skills required to select appropriate machinery, tools, and materials; produce sketches and technical drawings; design wooden furniture using computer-aided design (CAD) software; create artistic wood carvings based on design sketches; manufacture wooden furniture and decorative items in compliance with occupational safety standards; and restore and repair damaged wooden furniture.
Admission Requirement
- Completion of basic general education.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates holding a Basic Vocational Qualification in Artistic Woodworking may be employed as:
- Furniture Designer
- Manufacturer of furniture for churches, schools, restaurants, and other public spaces
- Manufacturer of custom-made furniture, including counters, display cabinets, shelving, and similar products
- Office Furniture Manufacturer
- Manufacturer of wooden household and kitchen products
- Manufacturer of wooden sculptures, ornaments, wood inlay, and decorative wood mosaics
- Manufacturer of wooden boxes, jewellery boxes, dining accessories, and similar handcrafted products
Graduates may find employment in furniture manufacturing companies, woodworking enterprises, and workshops producing woven wooden products. They may also establish their own business and operate a private woodworking enterprise.
